It’s almost Independence Day, which means it’s almost time for food, family, friends, and fireworks! Whether you’re a Hilton Head Island native or a visitor who just happens to be here for our nation’s birthday, you may wonder where the best celebrations will take place. Fortunately, we’ve been around Hilton Head for years, so we know the top spots for the best Fourth!
Want to get active early on the Fourth? Registration is open until tomorrow at noon for the Firecracker 5K! Run/Walk for a $35 entry fee, and get the kids involved for $32. The Fun Run is only $12. All the action starts at 8 am on July 4th, so start stretching now!
Don’t miss the annual parade, filled with red, white, and blue! You can still register to join in the fun, or just line the streets to watch and cheer along. The parade starts at Harbour Town Lighthouse, so be sure you’re there before 9:30 am to get a good spot! Stick around after for more kid-friendly fun.
Shelter Cove Community Park will start the fun around 5 pm, with music, food, and bounce houses for the kids. The whole family can also enjoy face painting before the fireworks kick off at 9 pm. Just remember to bring your own chair.
Head over to Shelter Cove Marina for a special patriotic family show, food, fun, face painting, and fireworks! Kids will also enjoy Cappy the Clown, bounce houses, and train rides. Fireworks start around 9 pm.
If you don’t want to run a 5K, you can still enjoy biking around the island. Make sure to reserve your bikes now! And if beach fun is more your style, we have all the loungers and umbrellas you’ll need for your Independence Day in the sun.
