The chances of seeing a White Christmas here in Hilton Head are slim to none, but there are other ways to get in the holiday spirit. Just because the December weather here is more suited to bike riding, golfing, and fishing than it is for skiing or building a snowman doesn’t mean you can’t feel festive! One of the best ways to get into the holiday spirit is to feast your eyes upon all the Hilton Head Christmas lights many businesses and organizations put up for the season.

Whether you’re just visiting for the holiday or a resident looking to get out of the house for some twinkling lights, we’ve got you covered! Here’s a list of the best places to find Hilton Head Christmas lights this holiday season!

Holiday Lights at Fire Station 3

Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue combines festive lights with the spirit of giving at Fire Station 3. Back on November 25th, they had a proper holiday lighting event with cookies and cocoa, but you can still enjoy their twinkling light display through the end of the month. Spread holiday cheer by taking new and unwrapped toys with you when you go as they’re collecting them to give out to those in need.

Harbour Town at The Sea Pines Resort

You can plan on spending the whole day at The Sea Pines Resort with tons of Christmas activities and shopping. The harbour and boats are festooned with twinkling lights, and the 28’ towering Christmas tree makes the perfect backdrop for pictures. Santa will be visiting a few days, too, so be sure to check their calendar if you want to snag a pic!

Light Up the Harbour at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina

The holiday boat lights display at Shelter Cove is another must-see this holiday season. Stroll through the Hilton Head version of a winter wonderland as you take in the colorful lights before stopping to grab a few last-minute Christmas gifts at one of the many locally-owned boutiques or galleries. Several restaurants will be open for the holidays as well, so if you work up an appetite, you won’t have to go far!

Riverside District’s 1st Annual Festival of Trees

Although it’s over in Savannah, this event deserves a mention. Plant Riverside District proudly welcomes everyone to their first annual Festival of Trees. They, along with local businesses and organizations, have put a lot of effort into creating a dazzling forest display of Christmas trees for the public to explore. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the New Ebenezer Retreat Center and the Treutlen House.

December Nights and Holiday Lights

For the 12th season, December Nights & Holiday Lights returns to the Coastal Georgia and Botanical Gardens to light up your life. With more than five acres of magically lit trails and gardens, there are illuminated displays sure to wow everyone in your family. This year, they’ve added new themes like Alice in Wonderland and Once Upon a Time with a real fire-breathing dragon!

We hope to see you this holiday season here on the island. Hopefully, these Hilton Head Christmas lights will help get you and your family in the holiday spirit.
