It’s that time of year again! The busy season is in full swing, and with the fourth of July around the corner, it’s time to turn up the fireworks. We thought we’d list a few of the better, more well known, and lesser known spots for the folks just visiting for the Independence Day festivities.
The 411
Firstly, all summer long, Hilton Head has fireworks at Shelter Cove Marina, visible all along Broad Creek at 9pm. Free admission, free parking, and the shopping area offers plenty of refreshments. This is probably one of the most popular events of the summer, so be ready to have some fun! You can view the fireworks from plenty of places. The water is a front row seat, a stunning view of the display! If you don’t have your own boat, there are plenty of companies offering firework cruises that combine the experience with sightseeing or even dinner. Be sure to ask about the Tuesday night Fireworks Cruise with any of the companies that offer Broad Creek trips, and don’t miss the Tuesday Night Summer Jams in Shelter Cove Community Park. For the 4th, this is a fun and exciting spot, but there usually is a heavy amount of traffic.
Also, SeaPines hosts fireworks viewing in the Calibogue Bay area off of Harbortown. You can easily see the display in the grassy area behind the 18th hole. This is a little less popular, but it’s a great place to view the works, and enjoy your 4th!
If you’re in the north island, you can view fireworks from Hilton Head Plantation and the north shops. If location matters, and you don’t want to veer far from where you’re staying, and that happens to be the north island, this might be the best option for you.
Don’t forget, you can always set up camp on the beach, and watch the fireworks near any of these locations! We have chairs, tables, and other things you can rent while you’re here, so don’t feel obligated to pack it all up for your drive to Hilton Head… If there’s anything you’re missing, we’ve probably got you covered!
However you decide to view the fireworks, with parking confusion and a lot of traffic, we do recommend using bikes to get from place to place. We’re available to deliver to you, and we have extended hours over the summer! Holidays are typically a lot busier, but you can call us anytime, and as far in advance as you want (or as last minute), and if we have what you need, we’ll get it to you as fast as possible! As always, we hope you enjoy your stay, and that you #staycomfy
