If you’re headed to Hilton Head Island for Harbourfest between June 13 and August 15, you probably already have several of your plans locked down. We know that some things can come up at the last minute, and others you may not even know to plan for until you arrive. That’s why we pulled together this list of helpful information so you can make sure Harbourfest 2017 is your best one yet.
All About the Festivities
Harbourfest takes place every week between mid-June and mid-August, on Monday through Friday. This year, Shannon Tanner and the Oyster Reefers will entertain everyone on Thursday evenings. You can also catch Cappy the Clown all the way through September 4, every weekday evening at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina.
And, of course, it wouldn’t be a festival without fireworks. Watch for them every Tuesday evening during Harbourfest. If it rains, you can catch the fireworks the following Wednesay evening.
Helpful Hints
Because Harbourfest brings a lot of people to the island, you could experience a few inconveniences. Just be sure to plan ahead for these, and you’ll be just fine.
For instance, several families will arrive during the weekend, which means grocery stores could get crowded. Plan to eat out or bring along enough food for the weekend, and then do your shopping on Monday. You’ll be so glad you waited.
Keep in mind, too, that some of your planned activities could be affected by the crowds. If you’re planning to ride bicycles around the island, you should go ahead and reserve your rental now. The same is true for any beach items you might need, like chairs and umbrellas.
Double Your Fun
Summer Jams will also take place during Harbourfest. This family friendly event takes place each night at Shelter Cove Park. Kids can enjoy bounce houses, face painting, fun activities, music, and the fireworks that cap off each night.
As you can see, the summer is the best time to visit Hilton Head Island, but it definitely pays to plan ahead. If you have any questions or need any help locating rental equipment to make your stay on the island even better, don’t hesitate to give us a call!
