November might not be the most popular time to travel, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The less common travel months have a lot to offer, such as lower prices, fewer crowds, and more local activity. So, if you find yourself on your way to Hilton Head, South Carolina, for the Thanksgiving holiday, don’t worry about not having something to do. Here’s what you have to look forward to this November.
Eat a Home-Cooked Thanksgiving Meal
In Hilton Head, we know food. And that means we also know the importance of a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving. If you don’t have your family to eat with (or your family doesn’t feel like cooking), we’ll be your family for the holiday and cook for you! Here are a few Hilton Head restaurants that will be serving a traditional meal on Thanksgiving:
Go For a Run!
Many people like to partake in some sort of exercise, like a bike ride, before eating their big meal on Thanksgiving to help maintain a feeling of earning those calories and being able to eat freely. Even in Hilton Head, you can join others in a little Turkey Trot run at 8 am at the Skull Creek dockside.
Try Something Different
Thanksgiving doesn’t have to mean going into a tryptophan-induced coma when dinner is over. Go out to enjoy some live music, do some karaoke at Fat Patties, go for a cruise on the May River, or head out to the farmer’s market in Bluffton. You can even drop the kids off for a Kid’s Night Out while the adults head out for a date night.
Celebrating holidays away from home can be hard. But finding new traditions like the ones offered in Hilton Head can make it feel just like you are at home… or maybe something even better!
