As you may have come to find, Hilton Head Island is a very bike friendly place indeed! We have trails that lead all over the island and get to anywhere you might want to go. The only questions you have to ask yourself are a) where do you want to go with a bike, and b) what kind and size of bike do you need to get around?
Where can I bike?
The short answer for sure is, pretty much anywhere on the main part of the island. Wherever you can go, typically there’s a bike path to get there. Each of the red pathways in the map above is a “multi-use” path that can be biked on. Because these paths are classified for multiple uses is very important to pay attention to signage, pedestrians, and general traffic.

What bike is right for me?
Most of our bikes are unisex with a few minor exceptions, but they can all pretty much be ridden by a person of the right size for the bike. If you browse through our bike rental selection, you’ll see various bike sizes, and on each of those bike pages we illustrated what size person the bike is good for. For example, if you are 5’6” to 6’ tall, the 26” bikes should be perfect. 4’6” to 5’6” folks should look into the 24” bike. If you’re smaller than that you would qualify for the youth sizes.
Beyond that, because you’ll likely be riding around from place to place eating, shopping, and generally gaining more things to carry home- we offer complimentary baskets for all our bikes. They’re a hot commodity, so you’ll want to call in early, and schedule your bikes so we can be sure to save you one! We also have kiddie carts, and child seats available at most times, as well as smaller bikes with training wheels. So, for the general biker, we have the right bike for any occasion.
