With longer days, less cloud cover, and steadily increasing temperatures, the month of April is when Hilton Head starts to feel summer creeping in. The island isn’t typically a hotbed for typical Spring Break activity either, so if you’d like to take your own “spring break” vacation, you won’t have to worry about raucous behavior or fighting over an empty spot on the beach. If you’re still on the fence about heading over to our Lowcountry slice of heaven, these 5 fun Hilton Head events might help convince you!

Music & Taste on the Harbour

Meet us at the Neptune Statue for Hilton Head favorite, Music & Taste on the Harbour. Last night was the inaugural concert in this pet-friendly outdoor series featuring The Nice Guys. But don’t worry, you can catch them again on April 25th. On select Thursday nights, featured Shelter Cove Harbour restaurants will be set up with specially priced light appetizers, wine, beer, and cocktails. While admission is free, organizers are requesting canned good donations for the Deep Well Project. Seating is limited, so they also recommend bringing your own chairs!

9th Annual Ole Fashioned Oyster Roast

On April 13th, you can indulge in an all-you-can-eat oyster roast (along with some other non-seafood fare) for a good cause at the 9th Annual Ole Fashioned Oyster Roast. You can purchase a General Admission ticket for $10 or an All-You-Can-Eat pass for $50, with proceeds going to support The Gullah Museum of Hilton Head Island.

Bluffton Sunset Party

On Friday, April 26th at 5:30, Bluffton kicks off their Summer season of Sunset parties with live music by The Kelli Baker Band & Voodoo Soup. There will be food vendors on hand as well as beer, wine, seltzer, and hard cider, but be sure to hit the ATM ahead of time as this is a cash-only event. Tickets start at just $12 for presale General Admission through 4/12 before going up to $16, and if you wait to buy them at the door, they’re $20, so be sure to grab yours soon!

Art Market at Historic Honey Horn

Every Spring, the Coastal Discovery Museum hosts accomplished artists from around the country for the Art Market at Historic Honey Horn. This outdoor fine arts and crafts sale runs from 10am until 5pm on Saturday, April 27th, and from 10am until 4pm on Sunday, April 28th. Take a stroll under the historic live oaks as you peruse artist booths offering their wares in all shapes, sizes, styles, price ranges, and mediums.

Hilton Head Farmers Markets

There are also several farmers markets you can check out while you’re in Hilton Head on vacation. At the Coastal Discovery Museum every Tuesday from 9am to 1pm, you can shop local and support Lowcountry small businesses at the Hilton Head Island Farmers Market. On Saturdays at the Shelter Cove Community Park from 9:30am until 12:30pm, you can meet and greet with local farmers, food producers, and makers at the Hilton Head Community Market.

One of the best things about the island is that there is always something going on. No matter when you visit, there are going to be plenty of Hilton Head events to choose from.
