We finally have a major holiday coming up where we may be allowed to gather together as a large community and celebrate after a year’s worth of events cancelled due to Covid-19! While 2021 plans for festivities are still tentative for now, there is a glimmer of hope that we start resuming life as it was pre-pandemic. It’s time to make some plans. What to do, what to do… ?
If you’re in the Hilton Head area this 4th of July, there are a few events to consider.
Shelter Cove Harbour Fest
The first thing you’ll need to know is where to find some fireworks. For thirty-two years, the place to go in the Hilton Head area has been Harbour Cove. They are ready to resume their title as Best Fireworks on the Island. While they actually plan fireworks nights weekends throughout the summer (beginning at dusk), the biggest event is on July 4th. Celebrate before the fireworks by watching the live entertainment, provided this year by Shannon Tanner, Cappy the Clown, and the Parrot Palooza.
Beat the inevitable event traffic by renting a bike!
Sunday Brunch at The Crazy Crab
If you are spending the day (or weekend) in town, you’ll want to get your Sunday off to a tasty start. Brunch at The Crazy Crab, served every Sunday of the summer, will get you off on the right foot, no matter what your plans for the rest of the day are.
Mamma Mia!
How about a show before the show? Maybe one inside. Head over to the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina to see a performance of Mamma Mia! If you miss a show on the 4th of July, don’t worry. The troop will be playing there all summer.
The fireworks this year may seem brighter, the ocean breeze may feel warmer, and the company may seem sweeter since we couldn’t gather together to celebrate the Fourth last year. Who knows? Maybe it is. You will have to come join the celebration to find out.
